Mentioned below are the players of cricket, who are arrested in different cases and lived behind bars.
Sports are considers as games of spirit of humanity, and Cricket is one of the gentleman’s game. All the players requires to show discipline, spirit and commitment on and off the pitch. But some players overcome these precautions and violate the sportsmanship qualities by committing crimes or violating the rules.
Some of these players did not do anything wrong on the field but off the field. They do some of the crimes that are prohibited for all and gain a lot of attention. Here we discuss about the most attention gained players of cricket who are victim to jail. The All-time Arrested XI of Cricket.
Danushka Gunathilaka

Danushka Gunathilaka appears in almost 101 international matches for Sri Lanka, he debuted in 2015. During the T20 World Cup of 2022 in Australia, his career took an ugly turn. A women whom he met online accused him of sexual assault. After that Sydney police arrested him on 6th of November 2022.
He was ruled out of the tournament, after playing some first round matches, due to an injury. He did not leave the Sri Lanka camp during the injury. After arrest he tries to come out on bail but his request was rejected. After 11 days his request was accepted and he was released on some conditions.
Since that time he has not returned to Sri Lanka, because his case is still in pending. In May 2023 a public prosecutor dropped three of four sexual charges that are filed against him. Currently he is suspended from all forms of Cricket because of the serious allegation against him.
Navjot Singh Sidhu

Navjot Singh Sidhu was known by those who watched cricket in the 1980s and 1990s, for his lively personality. He was also known for his Anger issue, he was Indian opener Batsman. During his career he gave bites to news journalists. He also have some differences with his Captain Muhammad Azharuddin while playing for Indian team.
In 1998 a road rage case changed his life. In December 1988, Sidhu and his friend Rupinder Singh Sandhu had an argument with a 65-year old man Gurnam Singh, and the reason was a car parking issue. This argument turned to ugly turn when Sidhu beats that old man. Sidhu also removed his car keys, so the old man could not receive any medical help.
Gurnam was taken to the Hospital by Rickshaw where he was declared and brought back dead. Because of this incident Sidhu and his friend are restricted for the crime. Finally in May 2022 Sidhu was found guilty for the death of 65-year old man and was sentenced one year of jail for that crime.
Nasir Jamshed

Nasir Jamshed was one of the most talented left-handed Pakistani player (Batsman). His performances are marked in history, especially against India he was a match winner for his team. In 2012-13 he played a remarkable 241 runs with couple of impressive tons, which helps Pakistan’s team to a massive series won against India. He also receives player of the series award for his batting performance.
After that series Jamshed’s form starts declining which results in ruling out of him from the team. In 2017 he was arrested by Britain’s National Crime Agency due to participating in spot-fixing. During the PSL (Pakistan Super League) 2017 edition he enforce other players to fix the match between Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United.
In February 2020 the Manchester Crown Court sentenced him to serve 17 months in jail for violating the spirit of sport. Before this he was also banned for 10 years by anti-corruption for being a part of a scandal.

Kusal Mendis is one of the most valuable player for Sri Lankan cricket team, because of his superb batting and Wicket keeping skills. In Asia Cup 2022 edition he played an important role with his bat. He scores 155 runs in 6 matches at the strike rate of 156.56.
His life is going smoothly now, but early in 2020 Kusal was arrested by Panadura police. Mendis was on his car and accidently crushed a 64-year old pedestrian, who was on his bicycle.
After the accident, pedestrian was taken to the nearby hospital but unfortunately he died because of deep injuries. Kusal Mendis was released after a day of incident on two personal bails of 1 Million Sri Lankan Rupees. Currently Mendis is a key player of Sri Lankan cricket team in all three formats.
Imran Khan (Captain)

Imran Khan is one of the most famous personality in Pakistan and world as well. His services for Pakistan national cricket team was marked in history. In his captaincy Pakistan won the ODI (One day International) World Cup in 1992. After retirement from international cricket he joins Pakistan’s politics.
Early in 1996 he founded his own political party named PTI (Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf). Imran Khan became Prime Minister of Pakistan in 2018, after the struggle of 22 years in the political environment. He ruled for almost 4 years, and was ruled out in 2022 after failing in No-Confidence motion from the opposition.
After he got outside from the PM seat, multiple cases are filed against him. In result he got sentenced for three years in prison in August 2023, in order from Islamabad court for Toshakhana case. According to the news Imran Khan was arrested because he kept the government official gift, which was given by foreign officials.
Vinod Kambli

Vinod Kambli and Sachin Tendulkar are schoolmates, they played cricket together in school. But Vinod could not a huge icon like Sachin. Vinod Kambli served India in international cricket from 1991 to 2000. He played 104 ODIs and 17 Tests, with the score of 2477 with couple of centuries and 14 fifties in ODI. While in Test he scored 1084 runs with 3 fifties and 4 centuries.
Kambli’s have multiple controversies in his career, including his fight with Muhammad Azharuddin which was headlined on media. In 2011 he blamed Azharuddin and other teammates for fixing the Semi-final of World Cup 1996 match against Sri Lanka.
In February 2022 Kambli was arrested by Bandra Police for crashing his car into the car of Tejaswini Powar (the wife of former Indian off-spinner Ramesh Powar) in the condition of drunked alcohol. Vinod was later released on bail.
Ben Stokes

Ben Stokes is one of the incredible all-rounder of England National Cricket team. He achieved a lot of success and fame in the world of cricket. He have almost 12 year of career as an international player, in which he does not have a lot of controversies. But in 2017 he got in a serious trouble.
In 2017 when England won third ODI against West Indies, Ben Stokes was arrested for getting involved in a fight outside Mbargo Nightclub. Stokes spent a night behind the bars of Bristol and later released without any charges. Some reports claimed that Stock injured his hand in that fight.
Later in August 2018 Ben Stokes was declared innocent by jury, and the statement was put that he acted in Self-defense. The court ordered that Stokes was not guilty, which was a huge celebration for Stoke and his family.
Wasim Akram

Wasim Akram was former Pakistani bowler, he served Pakistan for 19 years from 1984 to 2003. During his career he was the key of success for his team, he helped team in winning a lot of matches. His Pace-Bowling makes him the most successful bowler of his time. He have more than 900 wickets in 460 international matches.
His career was full of different controversies. He faced match fixing blames as well. Later in 1993 when Pakistan’s team was on the tour of West Indies, Wasim was arrested on the beach in Grenada in a drug case.
Aaquib Javed, Mushtaq Ahmed and Waqar Younis were also arrested along with Wasim Akram, but later all of them are released on bail. Later in October 2022 Wasim revealed that he got addicted to cocaine following the end of his cricket career. He also claimed that he quit this habit after the death of his first wife.
Wayne Parnell

Wayne Parnell was a South African international cricketer. In IPL (India Premiere League) he became a notable figure because of his massive bowling. He served Pune Warriors India from 2011 to 2013 and took 20 wickets in 18 matches at the economy of 7.33.
During the fifth season of IPL in April-May 2012, Parnell was in India. Mumbai police raided a rave party in Juhu, where Parnell and his teammate Rahul Sharma got arrested for the use of drug. Both of them are released later on bail, and they say that they are not aware about the drugs supplied in party.
But Parnell and his teammate Rahul are tested positive for the drugs. Mumbai police filed a charge sheet against them in May 2013, in which he was declared a wanted accused. He was dropped from South African squad in T20 World Cup of 2014, to hear the case in Mumbai over his case.
Muhammad Amir

Muhammad Amir joins the international cricket at the age of 17, as a fast bowler. Amir got succeeded in impressing the PCB (Pakistan cricket Board) by his fast bowling in ICC T20 World Cup 2009 and Champions Trophy 2009. His international journey was going well till the Pakistan’s team tour to England in 2010.
During the campaign in England, a British tabloid conducts an operation in which a bookie Mazhar Majeed got arrested. That bookie claimed that he gives money to Pakistani bowlers Amir and Asif to bowl a no-ball intentionally in Lord’s Test match against England. This claimed comes true when checked in video, in which Amir bowled an over as Majeed told him.
The video arises a storm in the cricket world over the spot-fixing, which occurs after 10 years in international cricket. Amir and Asif got arrested along with the team captain Salman Butt, who was also involved in this fixing. Amir was banned by ICC (International Cricket Council) for 5 years after a proper investigation.
Muhammad Asif

Muhammad Asif could be a good bowler for Pakistan if he had not taken part in spot-fixing. He was known as a magician in cricket world for his because of his magical spells. In a case when Amir got 5 years ban from ICC, Asif was also found taking part in spot-fixing along with Amir in Lord Test 2010, against England.
Asif also got bribes from the bookie Majeed, who directed him to bowl a no-ball. Asif followed the bookie instruction and bowl a no-ball, which was later proved with a video. Scotland police arrested him along with Amir and team captain Salman Butt.
After that sting video the cricket fans got crazy over them. ICC (International Cricket Council) charged Asif with article-2 of ICC anti-corruption code and Asif, Amir and Salman got suspended. In February 2011 Asif got ban for 7 year by ICC for corrupting the game.
